Higher Web Design and Development builds directly on the skills developed at National 5. The unit continues to focus on analysing problems and designing effective solutions, while extending knowledge of web technologies. Alongside HTML and advanced CSS techniques, JavaScript is introduced to add interactivity and improve user experience. The use of web forms is also implemented, enabling websites to collect and process user input. Completed websites must be tested and evaluated to ensure they meet the requirements defined in the analysis stage.

Web Design and Development is assessed through both the Higher exam and assignment.
