We have been working extremely hard over the last few months, striking a balance between preparing for next year while also ensuring students across Scotland are supported with their upcoming exams. Two of our big updates are as follows.

Updates to Take a Test

Our most popular app, Take a Test, has received an important update.

Previously, the results screen provided only a simple overview. It has now been enhanced to allow learners to filter their results in more useful ways. Pupils can now choose to view:

  • All results
  • Correct answers only
  • Incorrect answers only
  • Questions where time ran out

This makes it easier for learners to identify patterns in their performance and focus on areas where improvement is needed. By highlighting weaker areas more clearly, pupils can revise more effectively and build confidence over time.

A number of minor bugs have also been resolved as part of this update.

Based on pupil feedback, the original 15-second time limit per question was considered too restrictive. The time limit has now been increased to 20 seconds, giving learners a better opportunity to read and consider each question carefully.

The new version of Take a Test can be played here.

Computing Technologies NPA (Level 4) Content

Over the next few weeks, we will also be finalising two units from the Computing Technologies NPA at Level 4:

  • Computing Foundations (mandatory unit)
  • Emerging Digital Technologies (optional unit)

Content for both units is now close to completion and will include:

  • Over 30 workbooks and PowerPoints available for free download
  • Multiple examples of assessment for Emerging Digital Technologies
  • Over 200 multiple choice questions aligned with SQA-style assessments

These resources are designed to support both classroom teaching and independent study, helping learners build understanding of key computing concepts.

Computing Foundations (Level 4) can be found here.

Emerging Digital Technologies (Level 4) can be found here.
