Resolution
Resolution is the number of pixels in an image.
The more pixels an image has, the higher its resolution. This creates a higher-quality image with a larger file size.
The fewer pixels an image has, the lower its resolution. This creates a lower-quality image with a smaller file size.
Resolution Example
The two images have been scaled to be the same size, except one image has a higher resolution.
High Resolution
The image with a higher resolution has cleaner lines and more detail. However, it is a larger file size than the pixelated version.
The higher the resolution, the higher the quality, but also the bigger the file size.
Low Resolution
The image with a lower resolution has been stretched to the same size as the original. This makes it pixelated and gives it hard, blocky lines.
The lower the resolution, the lower the quality, but also a smaller file size.
