Design

Once the Analysis of a web problem is complete, it is then time to Design the website.

Design refers to not only how each page should look, but also the structure of the website and the decisions that should be made to ensure the complete website is Fit for Purpose.

There are three core components that you must know at National 5.

Drawing Wireframes

Wireframes are hand-drawn versions of a website at the earliest stage of design.

Navigational Structure

Navigational Structure shows how every page is linked together.

Low Fidelity Prototypes

Low fidelity prototypes are a detailed sketch of each page, showing text and images.

You should be able to draw wireframes and their elements.

You should be able to draw the navigational structure of a website.

You should be able to explain the purpose of a low-fidelity prototype.
