Development

This unit is all about bringing your design from unit 1 to life and combining it with your media assets from unit 2. You will be developing your idea to create a playable version of your game, documenting the development and evaluating the finished product.

What will be covered?

You will learn about:

  • Developing games in Unity
  • Creating Prefabs to make development easier
  • Coding Game Mechanics
  • Problem Solving

How this unit is assessed

You will complete three main pieces of work during this unit:

Development of your Game Idea

  • Creating a game to a playable state in line with your Design Document.
  • Making use of assets sourced or created during the Media Assets unit.

Game Documentation and Testing

  • Documenting your game including taking screenshots and providing your code.
  • Testing your game to ensure it works as intended.

Game Evaluation

  • A critical evaluation of your game, comparing the finished product to the original idea.
  • Addressing what could have gone better and what you would do differently.
