Conditions

Conditions are requirements that must be met in order to take part in an esports event. They define who is allowed to enter the event before it begins.

Conditions are different from rules.

  • Rules control behaviour and how the event is run.
  • Conditions decide whether a participant is eligible to join the event in the first place.

Conditions help organisers ensure the event is fair, appropriate, and suitable for the participants involved. They prevent issues by setting clear entry requirements in advance.

All conditions must be met before a participant is allowed to take part in the event.

Example Conditions

Below are examples of conditions that may be used in different esports events. Not all events will use the same conditions.

  • Participants must be a certain age
  • Participants must be in a specific school year
  • Participants must belong to a specific house or team
  • Participants must meet a minimum rank or skill level in the game
  • Participants must attend the same school or organisation
  • Participants must register before a set deadline
  • Participants must have access to the required equipment or accounts

If a participant does not meet the conditions of an esports event, they should not be allowed to take part, even if they agree to follow the rules.
