Planning
You have now explored the key elements of organising an esports event. It is now your turn to plan your own event as a group.
Using the criteria covered in this unit, your group must create a clear and structured plan for your esports event. This plan should explain how your event will work, who it is for, and how it will be delivered successfully.
Your planning document should cover everything from choosing your target market for participating in the event, to selecting a venue and looking for sponsors.
Your plan should show that you have carefully considered each area and made sensible decisions.
Keeping It Simple (But Be Brave)
A successful event does not need to be large or expensive. In fact, smaller, well-planned events are often more realistic and easier to manage.
Be ambitious in your ideas, but realistic in your planning.
Ask yourselves:
- Can we realistically run this with the time and equipment available?
- Is our format manageable?
- Do we actually have access to the venue and technology we are planning to use?
It is better to plan a simple event done well than a complex event that would be difficult to deliver.
